Buy Scandinavian Securities
January 9, 2006
For the second quarter in a row another Scandinavian stock has hit the headlines in the GSCS Universe. TGS –Nopec, a Norwegian stock was being bought by almost everyone in Q3 2005. Good research undertaken by brokers has paid off. The price rose from 179 Kroner July 1st to 280 Kroner August 12th. The majority (70%) of transactions happened in August. More than 85% of these transactions were purchases during this month. After August 12th the price decreased but then rose to a new peak of 281 Kroner on September 30th. September saw fewer transactions than August but more than 74% of these were purchases. Nopec has continued to increase in price and Jan 4th it was 326 Kroner, which was the day before the completion of the acquisition of Aceca Limited. For those that bought the stock in the beginning of August, it would appear to be a good time to sell.
